Why Reflectosaurus?

  • Reflective Tape saves lives!

    • In 2001, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published findings from a three-year study that conspicuity markings reduced side and rear impacts with truck trailers by 29% and fatalities or injuries by 44% in dark conditions.
    • In 2004, the European Commission supported TÜV Rheinland Group in Germany concluded that all new vehicles over 3.5 tons should be equipped with conspicuity markings and markings should cover at least 80% of each side.
    • In 2005, the Russian transportation safety officials at the Scientific Institute of Motor Transport (NIIAT) performed a there-year study, finding a 62% reduction in fatalities and a 78% reduction in injuries.
    • In 2009, the Institute of Vehicle Safety in Hungary studied 1,400 crashes involving cars and trucks, and they concluded that retroreflective markings would help prevent 600 crashes and up to 65 lives every year.

  • YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE!

    • From 2017 to 2024, the US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) found that over 698,500 injuries related to micromobility products were treated in U.S. emergency departments. 
    • Out of the 206 fatalities reported to CPSC staff, 140 deaths involved motor vehicle accidents (e.g., collision with parked or moving cars, SUVs, buses, or trucks).
    • E-bicycle collisions with moving or parked motor vehicles were the leading cause of death associated with 170 reported deaths.
    • From 2020–2024, a study published in the Injury Journal reports 2117 pediatric e-scooter injuries, with incidents increasing annually; 42.2% occurred in 2024. Males accounted for 70.1% of injuries, and children aged 11–14 years represented the largest age group (38.3%).
